Upgrade from SQL Server 7.0/2000 to SQL Server 2000/2005

SQL Server 2005 represents a major improvement over previous versions of SQL Server. Higher performance and availability, tighter security, and enhanced analysis (OLAP) and reporting capabilities provide compelling business reasons to upgrade from either SQL Server 7.0 or SQL Server 2000. Whether you’re simply upgrading your existing database server, or migrating to new hardware, we will ensure that your critical database applications benefit from moving to SQL Server 2005. Note: After 31, December 2005, support for SQL Server 7.0 moved from Mainstream Support to Extended Support. This means that Microsoft will only provide security hotfixes and paid support (only available through Premier Support and Essential Support contracts). We’re recommending that clients on SQL Server 7.0 consider upgrading to either SQL Server 2000 or SQL Server 2005 as soon as possible.

Migrate from other database management system

SQL Server Service Packs and Hotfixes
